Additional 15 trillion cubic feet of gas were discovered in Jafurah field by Saudi Arabia.

Significantly, the recent discovery of gigantic natural gas reserves at the Saudi Arabian’s field (Jafurah) has been a big boost for their energy sector and further cements the country’s position as a major global energy player.



With some 15 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and approximately two billion barrels of condensate discovered, Jafurah’s total estimated resources now stand at an incredible 229 trillion cubic feet or gas and 75 billion barrels of condensate (Saudi Aramco par. 2). Jafurah is an unconventional gasfield located southeast of the famous Ghawar oilfield, which requires specialized methods for extraction.
